On the basis of extensive experiments,
Harbin Xinke High Energy Power Source Co. Ltd. has
been granted with patents for both ' sodium salt based high
conductivity electrolyte' and 'recipes of large capacity
durable positive — negative plate active matters and
associated manufacturing method'. The company has worked out
the high energy sodium salt battery for ignition with the
proprietary technology. The new battery is also termed ' the
battery without internal consumption' as the sodium salt
based electrolyte is stable enough to be volatilization
resistant.
The experiments have shown that the
new battery is desirable for large current discharging as it
is able to perform 80 ignitions on a consecutive basis. The
new battery is proved work well in both extremely cold and
hot environments. The long period of trial applications in
Harbin Public Commuter Company and others have demonstrated
that the new technology is able to extend the battery life
by several times. As the battery is very limited in
self—discharging, it only takes 4 hours to have the
battery recharged. The recharged battery may survive one
year rack storing, and 4 times better than the conventional
battery in terms of the performance.
The result
has passed the verification approval of the relevant
authorities. Experts believed that the
technology may find extensive applications in
transportation tools such as vehicles, boats, airplanes,
rail locomotives and emergency power sources.
