The Ministry of Commerce says China's auto industry is entering a restructuring period.

In a report, the ministry says that in the future there will be a few large auto groups with advanced competitive power and technology, while some smaller auto manufacturers will be pushed out of the market.

It also predicts that the top 4 Chinese auto manufacturers will occupy 80 percent of the national auto market from 2006 or 2007 onwards.
