Management of Nature Reserves to be Improved
2005-02-14 00:00

China will pay attention to the quality of nature reserves, especially targeting their management and efficiency.

Vice Minister of Forestry Zhao Xuemin says that although China has established many nature reserves, they are not particularly well managed.

In total there are 2000 nature reserves on the Chinese mainland, covering 14 percent of overall national territory.

Nature reserves come in many types depending on what is being protected, the latter including biological species, water resources and scenic spots.
