China Supports African Countries' Economic Development

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao made the statement while meeting with Mauritius Prime Minister Paul Raymond Berenger Monday in Beijing.

Wen Jiabao said China has reduced or exempted some expired debt from African countries and granted tariff-exemptions to the continent's least-developed nations.

Meanwhile, Wen Jiabao voiced his appreciation for Mauritius's stance on the one China policy.

The Mauritius Prime Minister thanked China's assistance to African countries and stated his willingness to deepen and expand cooperation with China in a variety of fields including trade and economics, tourism and disaster warning systems.
